Chord X
Emissions reporting for regulatory compliance

Chord X delivers two solutions, ecoMax and optiMax, to both ship and shore operators. Not only do these solutions enhance reliability and reduce operating expenditures, but Chord X also helps ship owners and operators meet the comprehensive decarbonization goals set by international regulation bodies, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the United Nations.
ecoMax measures and analyzes the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of customers’ vessels and fleets. It also allows customers to satisfy upcoming environmental reporting requirements relating to GHG emissions.
optiMax measures and analyzes machine parameters, such as main engines, boilers, and auxiliaries, on a continuous and real-time basis. It delivers timely insights that allow users to prevent unplanned downtime and mitigate wastages from inefficiencies.
Together, ecoMax and optiMax offer in-depth analysis based on sensor data, allowing superintendents, engineers, and other key stakeholders to make data-based decisions about the operations of their fleet.
BCG Digital Ventures Role
Chord X was developed and launched in October 2019 through a partnership between BCG Digital Ventures and MISC Berhad (MISC). Over the course of a year, the teams developed, built, and launched a solution to improve the reliability of vessels and reduce associated operating expenses.
